Cabaret Cthulhu...

(Pictures from http://www.toyvault.com/cthulhu/plush_cthulhu.html and www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies)

I have just been watching some TV with Principessa, specifically a program called Doodle Do. I must admit, I zoned out a little. My brain went off on a tangent and I found myself thinking about Cthulhu. I wondered why, but then I realised. The characters on Doodle Do resemble cabaret Cthulhu hand puppets! I don't feel so bad about Principessa having a cuddly Cthulhu now!

Now I have a picture in my head of Cthulhu in Las Vegas, feathers and all, singing 'I Will Survive'! I suppose it'd look a little like this, but with more tentacles!

The art of a thousand walls.

Well, maybe not a thousand. In fact, it is the art of just one wall. My bedroom wall. Courtesy of Principessa. I think she has an irrational fear of using blank paper or something.

This little fella is above the radiator. He almost looks like a 'Chad was here' character.

This big beastie is above Principessa's bed. (Yep, she still sleeps in my room!) I think it looks a bit like a three year old's interpretation of the great Cthulhu! I would say 'but that's impossible as she has never seen a picture,' but then I remembered that her Uncle Gaz let her have the cuddly Cthulhu I gave him for his birthday.

She has been learning to write her name recently. I was really surprised when she shoved a piece of A4 paper in my hand with her name in her cute three-year old scrawl across the page. Made me so proud, it did!

Star Trek meets Cthulhu

Here I go, off on another geek speak.

So chuffed that Simon Pegg will be Scottie in the new Star Trek movie. What a great piece of casting. Just wondering now if he will go to speech lessons to find his inner Scotsman? Another great piece of casting is Zachary Quinto, otherwise known as Sylar in 'Heroes', as the young Spock. So far, I like the beginnings of this Star Trek film.

As for Cthulhu, I was giggling happily to myself when I found out that you could buy cuddly versions of the Great Old One. The one that tickled me the most was this one:

Santa Cthulhu

Now that is done with, normal news time.

Poor ikkle Principessa hasn't been well again. She came home from school yesterday and fell down with a temperature. She didn't get much sleep last night, though if she were in any pain she wouldn't tell me. She's still got a slight temperature today, but she's much better and bouncing about like a caged rubber ball. It's a good job that school was closed for a training day!

I have almost finished my Christmas Shopping! Woohoo! Just have to buy something for Mumbles and Nathaniel now. The only thing I have to worry about is buying birthday pressies for people whose birthdays are in the run up to Christmas.

Ah well, time to blubber with insanity as I have been perusing the Great Cthulhu's countenance for far too long now.... Blub, blub, blub!
