Here's an interesting post from Wil Wheaton on the experience of being a rookie writer.
I think I might have to put Scalzi's blog on the blogroll, as I haven't yet. I only ever read the odd post.
Now it's back to mulching thoughts and sentences into a coherent essay in between bouts of playing D&D Tiny Adventures on Facebook!

Glad to see it's not just us who are full of self-doubt.I really, really want to get a short story published. The satisfaction would be immense. However think we could be making a rod for own backs,so to speak.A difficult journey lies ahead but hopefully it will be worth it.
Even if nothing ever gets published, just to be able to get to the end of a story would be immensely satisfying for me. Even when I have the ending in mind, the middle bogs me down!
